This is a piece commissioned by the musician Joseph Elm for a show he curated for MARQ in Claremont-Ferrand. It was sandwiched between a performance of Arvo Part’s “Spiegel im Spiegel” and Joseph Elm’s “Leviathan”; because of this, the first half was written over a few days of nonstop Arvo Part, the second of nonstop Joseph Elm. The mp3 I think preserves this conversation.
